Overview

You will collaborate with a development team located in London, overseeing projects across the South of England. Your work environment will alternate between the office and various sites, typically within a 50-mile radius of the M25.

MCR Property Group operates as a national real estate investment and development firm, with offices situated in London, Manchester, Birmingham, and Edinburgh.

The primary focus of MCR encompasses residential and industrial new constructions, along with the asset management of existing properties. Currently, we have a pipeline of approximately 7000 residential plots and a commercial/industrial portfolio valued at over £2 billion.

With plans for significant expansion in the coming years, MCR is on the lookout for driven individuals with construction expertise to join our growth journey.

Position

As a Lead Quantity Surveyor, you will deliver commercial insights and support, taking responsibility for the financial execution of assigned projects. Your role will ensure that projects are procured and delivered within budget and on schedule.

You will report to the Construction Director, Commercial Director, and directly to the board, preparing monthly reports, cost assessments, contract/sub-contract packages, and managing variations.

A team of Project Managers and Quantity Surveyors will work alongside you on these initiatives. The role is primarily office-based, with site visits for meetings and valuations based on your level and location.


Essential Criteria:
  • In-depth understanding of the sub-contract procurement process
  • A minimum of 8 years' experience in Quantity Surveying across various projects and values
  • Experience working with a developer, main contractor, or sub-contractor
  • Proficient in both pre and post-contract administration, including cost planning, estimates, measurement for bills of quantities, tendering & procurement, value engineering, tender reporting, valuations, and final accounts
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Construction Industry processes and procedures
  • Technical expertise in building materials, techniques, and systems
  • Proficient in computer applications – Excel, Word, etc.
  • Possess a full clean driving license
