Job Description

**Job Title:** Cost Manager and Quantity Surveyor - Construction Management

**Job Summary:** We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cost Manager and/or Quantity Surveyor to join our team at Turner & Townsend Group. As a key member of our construction management team, you will be responsible for providing commercial input to design optioneering and value engineering exercises, reviewing contractor and subcontractor pricing, and leading negotiations on behalf of our clients.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Provide commercial input to design optioneering and value engineering exercises to ensure that our clients receive the best possible value for their investment.
  • Review contractor and subcontractor pricing to ensure that it is fair and reasonable, and lead negotiations on behalf of our clients to drive fair contract prices.
  • Manage the change process, including negotiating change orders throughout the project lifecycle, and ensure that post-contract cost variances and change control processes are managed effectively.
  • Extract data from various sources, including complex spreadsheets, and transform it to fit operational needs to aid the project and portfolio as a whole.
  • Participate effectively in post-contract cost variances and the change control processes, and manage cost impact/contingency management and commitment tracking logs.
  • Prepare funding data presentations and coordinate value engineering sessions with stakeholders.

**Pre-Contract Responsibilities:**

**Requirements:**

  • Experience working in a construction cost management role within the construction industry.
  • College and/or post-graduate degree in construction management, cost management, quantity surveying, engineering, or a field related to construction.
  • RICS accredited or working towards is valuable, but not required.
  • Experience of leading cost and commercial management teams on medium or large-sized construction projects of medium to high complexity in the investor developer, corporate occupier, data center, and infrastructure space.
  • Strong knowledge of construction industry legal and technical matters, such as different procurement routes and contract types.
  • Good knowledge of construction industry technical matters, such as different procurement routes, value management, and value engineering.

**Education/Experience:**

  • College degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or a related field with a technical focus.
  • Experience managing cost for complex commercial, data center, high-tech, manufacturing, or mission-critical construction projects.
  • Proven track record managing large-scale projects at a program level.

**Salary Range:** $110K-$140K per year. Ranges are determined by role and level and represent a good faith effort to provide a fair and equitable salary. This range is a reflection of base salary only, not of a total compensation package. Please note Turner & Townsend reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range, depending on candidate's experience and qualifications.
