We are seeking a highly skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team at Radiology Associates of Ocala. As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality imaging services to our patients.

Job Summary

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist will be responsible for performing a variety of technical procedures, including in vivo and in vitro studies, using radiation detection and measurement instrumentation. You will also be responsible for calibrating and preparing radiopharmaceutical materials for administration to patients, as well as evaluating recorded images for technical quality.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and participate in technical procedures, including in vivo and in vitro studies
  • Operate radiation detection and measurement instrumentation, including stationary imaging devices and scintillation gamma apparatus
  • Calibrate and prepare radiopharmaceutical materials for administration to patients
  • Evaluate recorded images for technical quality
  • Process computerized image data, including function curves and reconstructed SPECT and PET/CT images
  • Assume care for the physical and psychological needs of patients of all ages during an examination
  • Maintain inventory of supplies and prepare records concerning radiopharmaceutical receiving, dispensing, and disposal activities
  • Provide instruction and technical guidance to radiologic technology students or other advanced imaging techs
  • Request and coordinate patient information, including medical charts and charge slips
  • Perform quality assurance procedures on equipment, including daily and weekly surveys and wipe testing
  • Monitor the Nuclear Medicine Department for possible contamination
  • Ensure compliance with radioactive materials licensure requirements
Requirements
  • Graduate of an AMA-approved school of nuclear medicine technology
  • Minimum of one year of experience in nuclear medicine, preferably with completion of 16 hours of training in PET/CT
  • Licensed by the State of Florida and ARRT (N) or NMTCB (CNMT) certification
  • BLS certification
