Position Overview: Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse, Mobile

This role offers an excellent opportunity to advance your nursing career while working in diverse environments that present rewarding challenges. Your contributions will be vital in delivering nursing care, training, and support to individuals facing various medical or psychiatric needs, including those with brain injuries, intellectual and developmental disabilities, substance use disorders, and emotional or behavioral challenges.

  • Assess and monitor the health conditions of individuals to ensure the delivery of high-quality services.
  • Administer medications and maintain accurate documentation, while supervising staff in medication administration.
  • Provide medical treatments as per physician's orders and deliver personal care services.
  • Conduct health assessments and implement healthcare services as part of each Individual Service Plan (ISP), responding to any changes in condition.
  • Train staff on essential topics such as universal precautions, infection control, and medication administration.
  • Act as a liaison and advocate with other healthcare and professional service providers.
  • Educate individuals on self-medication, prescribed treatments, and health-related topics.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's Degree in Nursing or a related field, or completion of an accredited LPN program.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in a nursing role with the population served.
  • Valid state LPN or LVN License.
  • Current driver's license, vehicle registration, and auto insurance.
  • Additional certifications as mandated by state regulations, including CPR/FA and HIV/AIDS certification, BBP, and ACT training.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with staff, individuals served, and their families.
