Qualifications:
Must possess a valid LPN license with prior experience in a medical office setting. Candidates should demonstrate an understanding of the diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds of clients, valuing a supportive family environment as essential. A commitment to empowering individuals to address their own challenges and a belief in the potential for personal growth and transformation are crucial. The ability to foster respectful relationships with clients to enhance their skills and confidence while maintaining a supportive role is required. Additionally, candidates must be adept at establishing appropriate boundaries.

Key Responsibilities:

- Collaborate with the Medical Services Coordinator to facilitate medical services, including scheduling and documenting physician and psychiatrist appointments, while managing clinic operations in compliance with state regulations.

- Provide nursing care to residents as necessary, following the directives of the Medical Services Coordinator and adhering to Youth Opportunity Center policies and procedures.

- Assist in maintaining confidential health records in accordance with regulatory standards, including initial and periodic health assessments, dental care, psychotropic medication management, immunizations, and vision examinations.

- Document all observations and incidents, including accidents, injuries, or any conditions related to health issues or potential abuse or neglect.

- Ensure effective follow-up by program staff regarding medical concerns, medication orders, care plans, and procedural developments.

- Oversee training and monitoring as required.

- Work closely with the contracted pharmacy to guarantee timely and precise medication orders, including assisting with prior authorizations and reviewing generic medication information for billing purposes.

- Comply with current medication policies to ensure safe, efficient, and accurate practices for obtaining, preparing, administering, documenting, and disposing of medications in line with Youth Opportunity Center protocols.

- Maintain clinic hours and participate in an on-call rotation to address the medical needs of residents.

- Provide guidance to program staff regarding necessary actions, which may include referrals for off-site medical care.

- Maintain a comprehensive database for all medical records on campus and ensure all required information is entered into the client software system.

- Conduct initial medical assessments within one business day and ensure physical examinations are completed within five business days for all residents.

- Assist with Medical Services Training for all direct care staff on campus as directed by the Medical Services Coordinator.
