Position Overview

TPD (Traffic Planning and Design, Inc.), recognized as one of the top civil engineering firms in the nation, is seeking talented and motivated Engineers across various experience levels.

Key Responsibilities

The responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams on projects involving work zone traffic management, intersection design, traffic signal systems, roadway signage, and pavement marking plans.
  • Gathering, analyzing, and interpreting demographic data and regional transportation planning information.
  • Assisting in the development or modification of specifications, plans, construction timelines, permits, and project designs.
  • Monitoring construction sites to ensure compliance with contract documents and project specifications.
  • Acting as the on-site representative for project oversight.
  • Providing support for traffic studies, corridor planning, feasibility assessments, and safety evaluations.
Qualifications

To be considered for this position, candidates should meet the following requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (mandatory)
  • Professional Engineering License (PE) in NC or the ability to obtain it within two years (preferred but not required)
  • Proficiency in CADD Software (experience with AutoCAD/Civil3D is preferred)
  • Familiarity with NCSDOT/NCDPW design standards, including traffic signal design, signage and striping, ADA compliance, pavement design, work zone traffic control, and access permitting.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills
  • Strong work ethic with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet various deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Possession of a valid Driver's License
