Key ResponsibilitiesThe selected candidate will be responsible for:
- Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams on projects involving work zone traffic management, intersection design, traffic signal systems, roadway signage, and pavement marking plans.
- Gathering, analyzing, and interpreting demographic data and regional transportation planning information.
- Assisting in the development or modification of specifications, plans, construction timelines, permits, and project designs.
- Monitoring construction sites to ensure compliance with contract documents and project specifications.
- Acting as the on-site representative for projects.
- Potentially assisting with traffic studies, corridor planning, feasibility assessments, and safety evaluations.
Applicants should meet the following criteria:
- A Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering is required.
- A Professional Engineering License (PE) in NC is preferred, or the ability to obtain one within two years.
- Proficiency in CADD Software, with a preference for AutoCAD/Civil3D experience.
- Familiarity with NCSDOT/NCDPW design standards, including traffic signal design, signing and striping, ADA compliance, pavement design, work zone traffic control, and access permitting.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- A strong work ethic with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet various deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- A valid Driver's License is required.
