Senior Mechanical Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Stantec, specializing in the design of Vehicle Fueling Infrastructure. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading the design and engineering efforts for fueling infrastructure projects, with a focus on hydrogen fueling systems.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the design and engineering of fueling infrastructure projects, including hydrogen fueling systems, compressed natural gas, and petroleum systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with client requirements, codes, and engineering standards.
- Develop and implement design concepts, including process piping systems, and prepare construction drawings and specifications.
- Participate in HAZOP studies and provide technical inputs for hydrogen refueling systems.
- Lead and mentor junior staff, including project engineers, EITs, and designers.
- Research and specify equipment and materials for fueling infrastructure projects.
- Represent the fuel design team at inter-discipline design meetings and review submittals against specifications and design drawings.
- Perform calculations and analyze fueling infrastructure subsystems using company-standard software and proprietary manufacturer software.
- Support business development pursuits, including writing or editing proposed work-plan narratives and estimating work hours by task and staff for proposals.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- California Mechanical-PE license.
- Minimum 7 years of experience working as a mechanical engineer on the design of fluid-process systems similar to those described herein.
- Experience in the oil and gas industry or in fueling-systems design is an advantage.
- Ability to commute to downtown Los Angeles at least two days per week.
