Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Logistics Management Specialist to join our team at the Department of the Navy. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for managing weapon systems and ensuring effective product lifecycle management methods.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage weapon systems in effective product lifecycle management methods and support all levels of naval aviation maintenance.
  • Coordinate with key personnel and address issues related to the operating fleet, particularly those involved in maintenance and readiness management and reporting.
  • Develop a formal process for gathering sustainment IT functional requirements from weapon system program offices.
  • Develop and enhance logistics forecasting and analysis methods, tools, databases, and processes.
Requirements
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.
  • New employees to the Department of the Navy will be required to successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check.
Qualifications

Applicants must have at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NH-3 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

  • Expert knowledge in logistics and operational data information systems to quantify factors/drivers for both fleet readiness and operating and support costs.
  • Demonstrating considerable insight of the dynamics of aviation logistics IT support systems and the ability to capture meaningful data in measuring system performance.
  • Structuring, planning, assigning, and evaluating accomplishment of tasks.
  • Expert knowledge of analytical methods for weapons systems and subsystems, the specific physical and performance characteristics of naval aviation weapon systems and subsystems, their interactions, and the relationship to program readiness and cost.
  • A thorough understanding of the interrelationships of logistics requirement characteristics with other professional disciplines (e.g., program management, logistics, engineering, contracting) to resolve complex problems, serve as technical consultant, and provide decision makers with a series of alternatives to optimize and improve readiness.
