Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Unit Coordinator to join our team at San Francisco Campus for Jewish Living. As a Unit Coordinator, you will play a critical role in supporting the Unit Manager, Social Services, and Interdisciplinary Team in all administrative unit functions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Staff Scheduling and Payroll: Coordinate staff scheduling for the unit and prepare bi-weekly payroll accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Receptionist Duties: Function as a receptionist for the unit, taking messages and returning calls for Unit Manager, Social Worker, and Nursing staff.
  • Document Management: Transcribe Physicians' orders, manage pharmacy refills, and ensure all nursing forms are current and available.
  • Administrative Support: Responsible for filing, copying, and scanning/faxing documents, distributing mail, and ordering supplies for the unit.
  • Resident Files: Create and maintain various resident files, including disaster, personal effects, mortuary designation, and annual universal lifeline forms.
  • Non-Employee Sitter Files: Coordinate and complete all non-employee sitter files, partnering with Human Resources to ensure background checks are completed.
  • Visitor and Family Interface: Greet, welcome, and interface with all visitors, families, residents, patients, and staff.
  • Appointment Coordination: Work closely with families and unit staff to coordinate internal/external resident appointments.
  • Communication: Contact families and communicate appointments, bed hold notifications, information requests, and miscellaneous information on behalf of the Unit Manager, Social Worker, and IDT.
  • Resident Monitoring: Monitor residents checking in to and out of the unit.
  • Shopping and Errands: Complete online or routine catalog shopping for resident needs as directed by Social Worker and Unit Manager.

Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: One year of experience in a long-term healthcare setting, working directly with residents, families, and staff, preferred.
  • Cultural Sensitivity: Cultural sensitivity of Jewish traditions and Russian Émigré issues.
  • Communication Skills: Strong English communication skills (written, verbal, and comprehension).
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal skills, proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential situations.
  • Analytical and Organizational Skills: Strong analytical, organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work cooperatively as a member of a team.
