We are seeking qualified candidates for the Clinic Assistant role. This position requires bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish. The role reports to the Director of Programs & HIV Services and is classified as a Full-Time, Non-Exempt position with a starting hourly rate of $25.16 to $27.04.
Primary Responsibilities:
The Clinic Assistant is responsible for facilitating the effective delivery of primary health care and HIV services. Key duties include:
- Assisting with reception tasks during clinic hours.
- Monitoring patient flow to ensure efficient service delivery.
- Acting as a liaison between various clinical staff.
- Providing backup support to both front and back office operations.
Core Duties:
Administrative Tasks:
- Coordinate the scheduling of clinical staff in collaboration with management.
- Oversee clinic flow to enhance productivity and patient satisfaction.
- Generate and analyze productivity reports regularly.
- Assist in supervising front desk personnel and Medical Assistants.
- Manage reception area operations to ensure adequate staff coverage.
- Address patient insurance and payment inquiries, directing them to the appropriate department.
- Handle informal patient complaints and implement service recovery plans.
- Monitor clinic equipment and facilities, reporting any issues as necessary.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives within the clinic.
Front Office and Back Office Responsibilities:
- Provide assistance at the front desk, including verifying eligibility and demographic information.
- Support back office functions, such as taking vital signs and documenting patient histories.
- Prepare and conduct point-of-care tests as required.
- Ensure examination rooms are ready for procedures with all necessary supplies.
- Maintain sterilization of equipment as per protocols.
Qualifications:
- Preferred: Bachelor's degree; an Associate's degree combined with relevant experience may be considered.
- Mandatory: Medical Assistant Certification.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is essential.
- Minimum of one year of experience in a clinical environment; experience in Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC) is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail, particularly in data management.
- Reception experience is advantageous.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is required.
- Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality in diverse settings.
- Awareness and sensitivity towards issues related to HIV/AIDS, LGBTQIA, homelessness, immigration, mental health, and substance use.
