Construction Operations Specialist

We're looking for an experienced Construction Operations Specialist to join our team at EmployHQ. As a key member of our operations team, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the successful delivery of our commercial projects.

The estimated annual salary for this position is $130,000 - $160,000, depending on experience.

Job Overview

In this role, you'll be responsible for overseeing the operational aspects of our commercial projects, ensuring that they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluating project specifications to develop effective project plans and timelines.
  • Procuring necessary materials, subcontractors, and equipment to support project schedules.
  • Directing supervisory personnel and subcontractors to ensure work adherence to specifications and schedules.
  • Collaborating with labor representatives to resolve workforce complaints and grievances.
  • Inspecting work in progress to verify quality and schedule compliance.
  • Preparing and reviewing progress reports, material usage, and cost analysis.
  • Ensuring construction activities comply with federal, state, and local environmental regulations.
  • Preparing job cost reports, monitoring costs weekly, and analyzing specific cost items with the field superintendent.
  • Preparing project billings and ensuring timely payments by following up on outstanding accounts.
  • Coordinating shop drawings and submittals.
  • Attending scheduled progress meetings with the field superintendent or job foreman.
  • Scheduling material deliveries with the field superintendent.
  • Assisting the field superintendent with labor projections and scheduling.
  • Preparing required reports explaining any deviations between actual and estimated job costs.
  • Initiating and preparing correspondence with other trades, suppliers, subcontractors, engineers, architects, and owners.
  • Documenting job delays, problems, and conflicts.
  • Initiating and preparing change order requests.
  • Assisting in preparing final project paperwork, including maintenance manuals, warranty letters, and lien waivers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university; or three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 8+ years of mechanical/plumbing contracting experience.
  • Current driver's license.
