Job Description:
We're seeking an experienced Automation Systems Engineer Lead to join our dynamic team. As a key member, you'll be responsible for providing direct coordination and integrated automation support within our global robotics asset portfolio.
Your primary focus will be on ensuring seamless delivery of outputs to our sites in Indianapolis, Raleigh Durham NC, Concord NC, Alzey Germany, and potentially other future locations.
Responsibilities:
- Highly skilled in Allen Bradley Rockwell Controls, including Studio5000 and FactoryTalk SE applications.
- Experience with Fanuc Robotic systems is desired but not required.
- Commissioning and Qualification, asset delivery, validation activities, and cGMP regulations expertise.
- Delivering and/or troubleshooting automated applications within the pharmaceutical industry.
- Collaborating with client Platform owners and Robotic application integration teams to troubleshoot, shakedown, and oversee Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT).
- Troubleshooting system issues during production and identifying and implementing solutions.
- Evaluating production metrics and historian data to identify issues, recommend improvements, and implement changes.
- Ability to travel to client production sites up to 25%+ (1-2 weeks per month as needed by the project).
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and take initiative within a complex network environment.
- Previous experience in automated assembly equipment validation.
- Strong documentation management and technical writing skills.
- Contribute to project completion, manage time effectively, develop plans for own projects, and lead small project teams.
- Demonstrate good planning, organizing, time management, and team participation skills.
- Modify moderately complex to highly complex control logic requiring scientific and/or manufacturing process expertise.
- Clearly communicate progress and issues to peers.
Requirements:
- Willingness to work onsite in Indianapolis, IN.
- Willingness to travel to multiple sites.
- Minimum 5+ years of experience as an Automation Engineer (pharmaceutical environment experience highly preferred).
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent required.
- Proficiency using PC and Microsoft Office tools.
- Outgoing personality with strong communication skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- GMP/Validation practices.
- Intermediate skills with WORD (authoring/editing large technical documents with styles, tables, TOCs, track changes).
- Basic skills with EXCEL and PowerPoint.
- Strong interpersonal skills and clear communication capabilities.
- Experience with and tolerance for high levels of challenge and change.
