Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of patients with neurological and neurosurgical conditions.
- Collaborate with attending physicians, residents, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Perform procedures, such as lumbar punctures, NGT placements, and central line placements, under the supervision of an attending physician.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of departmental policies and procedures.
- Provide education and training to new hire PAs and PA students within the department.
- Master's degree from an accredited physician assistant program.
- Current certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
- Current valid license or eligibility for licensure as a physician assistant in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
- DEA registration and Massachusetts Controlled Substance Registration.
- 100 hours of CME every two years.
The Physician Assistant II will work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a large and complex patient volume. The position may require heavy lifting, standing, and walking for extended periods. The PA may be exposed to radiation, potentially infectious bodily fluids, and sharp instruments.
