Job Overview
At Massachusetts General Hospital, we are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant II to join our Rheumatology team. This is a full-time standard 40 hour per week position with a competitive salary of $44,000 - $50,000 annually.

Job Responsibilities:
We are looking for a detail-oriented and organized individual who can provide exceptional patient care and support to our healthcare team. The successful candidate will be responsible for:
• Assuring efficient patient flow through the office, including greeting patients, escorting them to exam rooms, and assisting with preliminary visits.
• Measuring and documenting patient vital signs in electronic medical records (EPIC), instructing patients on preparation for physicians, and setting up special equipment as needed.
• Anticipating and resolving issues that may impact patient care, communicating with physicians, nurses, and management as required.
• Providing excellent customer service skills, responding to patient and provider needs, and maintaining confidentiality and privacy according to HIPAA guidelines.
• Identifying areas of inefficiency within the operation and assisting in their resolution.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will need to have:
• A graduate degree from a certified Medical Assistance training program.
• State of Massachusetts certification or equivalent experience preferred.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least one year of practical experience in a medical setting.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to learn new software applications and effectively interface between programs.
