We seek a highly skilled Physician Assistant II to join our Neurocritical Care team in the Neurosciences ICU. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide high-quality patient care, collaborate with healthcare professionals, and contribute to the development of innovative care strategies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care, including rounding, history taking, physical examinations, and developing treatment plans
  • Collaborate with the critical care team to coordinate patient care and implement treatment plans
  • Perform bedside procedures, including lumbar punctures, NGT placement, and central line placement
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of best practices
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to junior staff members and contribute to the growth and development of the team
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited program
  • Current certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
  • Valid license to practice as a Physician Assistant in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
  • Experience in ICU settings, preferably in neurocritical care
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
Working Conditions

The successful candidate will work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with a high volume of patients. The position requires the ability to work effectively in a team setting, communicate complex information to patients and families, and make sound clinical decisions in a high-stress environment.

The position may involve exposure to infectious bodily fluids, radiation, and sharp instruments. The successful candidate will be required to follow Universal Precautions and use surgical sharp instruments safely.
