We are seeking a skilled Fleet Services Technician to join our team. As a key member of our Public Works department, you will be responsible for performing preventive maintenance services and minor mechanical repair work on light duty vehicles, medium duty vehicles, heavy duty vehicles, lawn & turf equipment, and motorcycles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect, operate, test, and repair light duty, medium duty, and heavy duty equipment for proper operation.
  • Repair and maintain various types of vehicles and equipment, including emergency vehicles and fire apparatus.
  • Perform preventative maintenance necessary to ensure the proper functioning of vehicles, mechanical work, repairs, or replaces under supervision, alternators, belts, fuses, valves, batteries, wheels, tires, or any other component as required.
  • Respond to or assist with service call requests; retrieve or repair vehicle and equipment in the field when needed.
  • Prepare, update, and maintain maintenance records and documentation.
  • Clean and maintain all shop facilities and equipment.
  • Change and repair all sizes of tires or tubes as needed.
  • Transport vehicles, equipment, and parts to various locations for a variety of purposes.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Basic knowledge of automotive principles.
  • Basic use of computer and standard business software packages.
  • Ability to read and comprehend property documentation and meet deadlines in a timely manner.
  • Possess basic entry-level tools for vehicle repairs.
