The successful candidate will be responsible for operating specialized equipment and performing assembly tasks. Key responsibilities include:
- Assembling and testing components for locomotive engines.
- Utilizing mechanical, electrical, and welding knowledge.
- Interpreting schematics and blueprints while performing basic calculations.
- Ensuring a clean and organized workspace.
- Adhering to verbal and written instructions and safety standards.
- Assembling parts for locomotive alternators.
- Securing sub-assembly components using various fasteners.
- Installing electrical wiring harnesses and hydraulic lines.
- Preparing engines for testing and conducting pressure tests.
- Diagnosing and repairing engine malfunctions to meet quality standards.
- Performing preventive maintenance on machinery.
- Identifying and resolving assembly and quality issues.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
- Vocational training and certifications in technical fields.
- Basic computer skills for data entry.
- Experience with forklifts and cranes.
- Strong problem-solving abilities.
- Familiarity with industrial equipment and manufacturing environments.
- Ability to read and understand complex technical documents.
- Experience with industrial painting systems.
