As a vital part of our organization, the Support Services Representative plays a crucial role in managing the accounts of deceased members. This position requires adherence to established protocols and legal regulations to ensure all tasks are executed with precision and care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive and process notifications regarding member deaths, ensuring accurate coding of accounts as per established guidelines.
- Conduct thorough account research, examining joint ownership, beneficiaries, outstanding loans, and other relevant details.
- Maintain compliance with applicable laws and regulations while handling sensitive cases.
- Engage with legal counsel when necessary to navigate complex situations.
- Communicate effectively with interested parties, providing updates and support throughout the process.
- Coordinate the collection of necessary documentation for account closure and fund disbursement.
- Monitor deceased accounts to ensure proper handling and compliance with procedures.
- Assist survivors in completing necessary forms and encourage them to establish new accounts.
- Develop training materials for staff to enhance understanding of death case procedures.
- Provide training to ensure appropriate responses to member death notifications.
Qualifications:
1. Associate's degree or a minimum of two years of college education in a four-year program.
2. At least two years of customer service experience within the financial sector.
3. Strong organizational and time management abilities.
4. Resourceful problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
5. Ability to manage multiple tasks and exercise sound judgment.
6. Excellent communication skills, particularly in demonstrating empathy and patience.
7. Proficient in verbal and written communication, with a focus on grammar and composition.
8. Professional phone etiquette.
9. Capability to work independently and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
10. Proficient in numerical accuracy and typing speed.
11. Familiarity with office equipment and software, including Microsoft Office and Adobe Pro.
