About this Role

We are seeking a skilled Commercial HVAC Journeyman Service Technician to join our team at Carrier. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the comfort and safety of our customers by providing expert installation, repair, and maintenance services for commercial HVAC systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical malfunctions in commercial HVAC systems
  • Perform regular maintenance on heating and cooling units to ensure optimal performance and efficiency
  • Install, replace, and repair equipment, including thermostatic controls, heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning parts, and low- and high-pressure liquid lines
  • Assemble and install metal ductwork to ensure proper airflow and system performance
  • Assist in planning and designing new installations of heating and air-conditioning systems to meet customer needs and specifications
  • Provide estimates of materials required for projects and repairs
  • Repair and replace damaged parts and equipment to ensure system reliability and efficiency
  • Read and interpret blueprints, floor plans, and wiring diagrams to ensure accurate installation and repair
  • Read and interpret City, State, and EPA regulations to ensure compliance and safety
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with customers and their representatives to ensure satisfaction and loyalty
  • Safely operate company vehicles, machinery, and equipment to ensure safe work practices and minimize risk
  • Recognize and mitigate risks and safety hazards commonly found in HVAC operations to ensure a safe working environment
  • Identify situations that require escalation or elevation to Supervisor or Manager for guidance or support
  • Participate in all required safety training and actively carry all state or national required licensing
Requirements
  • A minimum of 5 years of practical working experience in the HVAC industry
  • Passing examination regarding the abilities and knowledge of Building Trades Journeyman, conducted by an Examining Board
  • Ability to lift 50lbs
  • Ability to stand, crawl, sit, squat for extended periods of time
  • High School Diploma/GED
Preferred Qualifications
  • Basic understanding of building automation controls
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Experience using Salesforce and ServiceMax
