Position Summary:
The Process and Manufacturing Engineer plays a crucial role in sourcing machinery quotes, executing productivity-enhancing initiatives, resolving production challenges, and spearheading continuous improvement projects. This position involves project oversight, collaboration on program objectives, and ensuring adherence to industry standards. The engineer will also mentor team members and develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Standard Work Instructions (SWIs), and Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis (PFMEA) for new production lines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in obtaining quotes for necessary machinery or equipment.
  • Identify and implement process improvement projects to enhance productivity and efficiency.
  • Conduct hands-on root cause analysis for production, engineering, equipment, and maintenance challenges.
  • Manage projects and process enhancements, including implementation and analysis.
  • Collaborate with the Operations Team to meet program objectives.
  • Review PFMEAs, simulation analyses, control plans, and launch deliverables.
  • Support plant equipment installation, debugging, launching, and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Engage in meetings with plant teams to ensure project deliverables are met.
  • Troubleshoot automation issues and oversee new equipment installations and modifications.
  • Evaluate process equipment for implementation.
  • Ensure compliance of equipment and systems with relevant standards.
  • Establish and review equipment installation boards with OEMs and contractors.
  • Lead trial runs across all sites.
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and training to less experienced team members.
  • Develop and lead the creation of SOPs and SWIs.
  • Facilitate the development of Value Stream Maps (VSM) for production lines across all locations.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with US design standards (e.g., OSHA, NEC).
  • Experience in troubleshooting robotics and control systems, including Control Logix PLCs.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with a professional demeanor under pressure.
  • Excellent organizational skills and self-motivation.
  • Proven experience in technical project management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD software.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.

Education and Experience:
University or college degree/diploma in Mechatronics, Electromechanical, Controls Technology, or equivalent experience. Preferred candidates will have at least 5 years of experience in automation within the solar industry and knowledge of Statistical Process Control.
