LHH Recruitment Solutions has partnered with a growing organization, seeking a highly skilled Compensation and Benefits Specialist to join their team in Chicago, IL. This role will oversee the development, administration, and communication of employee benefits programs. The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge of benefit laws, regulations, and best practices.

About the Role:

  • Benefits Program Management: Lead the evaluation, recommendation, development, and implementation of benefit plans and programs that align with organizational goals and employee needs.
  • Employee Communications: Develop effective employee communications and education strategies to enhance understanding and appreciation of benefits offerings.
  • Leave of Absence Management: Manage all leave of absence policies and processes to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Retirement Plan Administration: Oversee the management of retirement plans, ensuring compliance with government regulations and efficient administration of retirement benefits.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all governmental regulations, including the Affordable Care Act (ACA), as they relate to benefits administration.
  • Vendor Management: Manage relationships with benefit vendors and brokers, overseeing the RFP process for negotiating insurance premiums and costs for all benefit plans.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and develop a small team responsible for benefits administration, including hiring, coaching, development, and performance management.
  • Government Reporting: Responsible for ensuring all required testing, auditing, and filing of health and welfare plans and retirement programs are completed accurately and on time.
  • Benefit Survey and Analysis: Manage benefit survey input and analysis, including data collection, reporting, and benchmarking against industry standards.
  • Financial Oversight: Manage benefit vendor invoicing and ensure accurate budgeting and forecasting of benefit program costs.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or related field.
  • Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) or Certified Benefits Professional (CBP) certification preferred.
  • At least 5 years of progressive experience in benefits design and administration.
  • Ideally 2 years of management experience, leading a team in benefits administration.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS systems.

Estimated Salary Range: $80,000 - $110,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications.
