Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Facilities Support Manager to join our team at the Jewish Community Center of San Francisco. This is a full-time, benefited, exempt position that requires a strong leader with excellent management and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a team of contracted janitorial staff and JCCSF event/program support staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and monitoring performance.
  • Develop and implement janitorial policies, procedures, and standards to ensure consistent and high-quality cleaning services.
  • Oversee daily janitorial operations, including cleaning of event spaces, public areas, and back-of-house areas.
  • Collaborate with program managers and events teams to plan and prepare facilities for events, including executing on floor plans, setup, breakdown, and cleanliness.
  • Ensure all staff comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations, and conduct regular inspections of supply areas to identify and address potential hazards.
  • Manage and track inventory of cleaning supplies, tools, and equipment, ensuring adequate stock levels and proper storage.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Events to manage the facilities support budget, monitoring expenses and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years' experience as a Janitorial / Housekeeping Manager or similar role in a large-scale hospitality or service-oriented environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of green cleaning products, janitorial equipment, and maintenance practices.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices in housekeeping.
  • Diligence and a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
  • Strong leadership and people skills with the ability to effectively manage and motivate a diverse team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to address and support maintenance challenges.
  • Exceptional organization and time management skills to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Working Conditions

This position requires working in a large community center, with regular contact with staff, visitors, and patrons. The position may require working outside of regular business hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. The work environment includes indoor and outdoor settings, and the position requires physical stamina, including standing, walking, and bending for extended periods.
