Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage commercial banking relationships to maximize profitability for the bank while maintaining acceptable risk.
  • Ensure each relationship is profitable and represents appropriate risk.
  • Act as a subject matter expert to provide guidance and support to junior staff regarding customer questions and issues.
  • Mentor junior staff and help manage workflow within the team.
  • Assess borrower credit-worthiness in accordance with credit policy.
  • Present loan opportunities to the appropriate credit approvers.
  • Manage enterprise risk for products and services.
  • Maintain expert knowledge of commercial banking products and services.
  • Consistently pursue an active calling effort to maintain an extensive pipeline of new business opportunities.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in commercial lending as a credit analyst, underwriting specialist, or portfolio manager.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience as a relationship manager.
  • Expert understanding of treasury management services and other banking products.
  • Expert accounting and finance knowledge.
  • Exceptional technical skills.
  • Expert knowledge of laws and regulations related to commercial lending.
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate on behalf of the bank and borrower while balancing risk and shareholder value.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills, as well as analytic and problem-solving skills.
