Reporting To: Senior Vice President & Head of Commercial Banking
Objective:
The primary focus of this role is to accurately document the Bank's loan assets utilizing LaserPro software, ensuring adherence to all stipulated terms and conditions prior to the closure of loans.
Key Responsibilities:
- Examine preliminary title reports, organizational documents, and escrow instructions; prepare or collaborate with legal counsel on loan documentation, ensuring precision and compliance with approval conditions, legal requirements, and Bank policies.
- Engage with title and escrow firms to facilitate the funding and recording of documents, ensuring timely loan closures.
- Coordinate with the Note Department for the onboarding of new loans, renewals, extensions, and modifications; ensure the collection of all requisite fees and charges.
- Verify the Bank's lien position upon receipt of the title policy against the property profile report.
- Ensure all necessary documentation related to the construction aspects of new loans is secured prior to loan closure, including but not limited to construction contracts, architect/engineer agreements, construction budgets, and other policy-required documentation.
- Process audit confirmation requests from borrowers and accounting firms of loan participants.
- Submit invoices for expenses incurred by borrowers during the loan underwriting phase to the Accounting Department for payment processing. Maintain records of fees prepaid by borrowers and prepare monthly certifications of general ledger accounts assigned to the Credit Department.
- Conduct thorough reviews of all third-party reports associated with each transaction type.
- Provide support to business officers and managers.
- Prepare required monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for Head Office or as directed by management.
- Verify data entry across various banking systems.
- Perform additional duties and tasks as assigned.
Required Competencies:
1. Language Proficiency: Ability to read and interpret various documents, write routine reports and correspondence, and communicate effectively with organizational staff.
2. Technical Skills: Proficiency in LaserPro software, database management, internet applications, and spreadsheet tools.
3. Organizational Skills: Must exhibit strong organizational abilities and exceptional proofreading skills.
4. Judgment: Position demands independent decision-making and execution of high-level tasks.
5. Analytical Skills: Ability to synthesize complex information, collect and research data, and apply intuition and experience to enhance data interpretation.
6. Problem-Solving Skills: Capable of gathering and analyzing information effectively and developing alternative solutions.
7. Interpersonal Skills: Maintain confidentiality in all interactions.
8. Oral Communication: Ability to articulate clearly and persuasively in various situations, and actively listen for clarification.
