Job Overview:

The role of the Project Control Specialist encompasses comprehensive oversight of all project control functions. This includes the management of schedules, risks, earned value assessments, cost and change management, document oversight, and procurement processes for intricate, high-stakes, large-scale projects. The individual in this position acts as the representative for project controls management, playing a crucial role in the success of the Project Team. A profound understanding of project management principles and practices is essential, along with the ability to lead the Project Controls team as required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the implementation of project management systems to effectively track, forecast, analyze, and report on project costs, schedules, and key performance indicators for assigned projects.
  • Analyze project costs, commitments, accruals, trends, and changes, providing recommendations for corrective actions to the Project Team as necessary.
  • Administer the Project Controls Process, offering guidance, direction, and specialized assistance to project managers in resolving complex project control issues and contractual matters.
  • Implement Document Management procedures and ensure proper documentation for the Project Team.
  • Identify, evaluate, and monitor risks and opportunities within the project management environment, including planning for risk mitigation and executing risk management processes.
  • Manage Contracts and Procurement systems, including Client Contract Administration, invoicing, purchase order issuance, subcontract agreements, subcontractor payment distributions, and project accounts payables.
  • Lead the project cost control team as needed.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Experience with Prism G2 package and Risk Management Processes is required.

Qualifications:

The qualifications listed below are representative of the skills and experience necessary to perform this role.

A. Education and Experience:

  • Education: A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related field is required, or a High School Diploma/GED with four years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience: A minimum of 5-7 years of relevant experience in Project Controls, Document Controls, and Project Procurement is required.

B. Certifications and Licenses:

  • No specific certifications are required.

C. Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficient in Microsoft software and automated accounting and cost management systems.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated expertise in Project Controls, Cost Engineering, Scheduling, Earned Value Management, and Estimating.
