Job Overview

ROLE SUMMARY: The Security Operations Specialist is tasked with ensuring the safety and security of the facility by adhering to established protocols. This position involves greeting visitors, issuing security badges, and preventing unauthorized access to the premises.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Monitor both the interior and exterior of the facility to identify and address any security concerns.
  • Conduct regular checks to ensure that all access points are secured as required.
  • Report any suspicious activities to the appropriate authorities.
  • Collaborate effectively with fellow security personnel to mitigate potential risks.
  • Thoroughly investigate and document any incidents or infractions that occur on-site.
  • Act as a visible deterrent to criminal activity by maintaining a professional appearance in uniform.
  • Perform scheduled and random inspections of designated areas to identify security breaches.
  • Assist maintenance teams in securing areas during emergencies.
  • Maintain effective relationships with local law enforcement and emergency services.
  • Secure the premises by patrolling the property, monitoring surveillance systems, and controlling access.
  • Prevent losses by reporting irregularities and enforcing company policies.
  • Manage traffic flow by directing vehicles as necessary.
  • Complete detailed reports of observations, incidents, and surveillance activities.
  • Ensure compliance with legal requirements to uphold the organization's reputation.
  • Carry defensive equipment as needed for de-escalation purposes.
  • Respond to incidents promptly and maintain proficiency in all assigned equipment.
  • Preserve order and enforce site regulations for personnel and visitors.
  • Participate in ongoing security training to enhance skills and effectiveness.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience in security.
  • High school diploma or GED is mandatory.
  • Must possess CLEET certification and be an active law enforcement officer.
  • Additional certifications such as baton, pepper spray, and CPR are advantageous.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Occasional lifting or carrying of up to 40 pounds.
  • Capability to climb stairs, ramps, or ladders as necessary.

SKILLS: Strong communication skills, ability to work independently or under minimal supervision, and capacity to handle high-pressure situations effectively.
