About the Role

TerraPower is seeking a highly motivated Nuclear Licensing Engineer to join our Natrium Licensing team. As a key member of our team, you will provide licensing support to our Natrium advanced reactor project, develop licensing documents, and support regulatory audits and engagements.

Responsibilities
  • Draft, author, and review licensing documents, including sections of a Construction Permit Application or Operating License Application.
  • Coordinate with project stakeholders to prepare responses to NRC audit questions and requests for additional information.
  • Interface with the Licensing Team to complete licensing tasks.
  • Coordinate with design personnel to ensure designs and design changes meet regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare, review, and maintain licensing documentation in compliance with regulations and strict quality assurance standards.
  • Interface with technical discipline teams at TerraPower, partners, and contractors.
  • Review correspondence to and from regulatory agencies.
  • Develop licensing strategies to support project goals.
Key Qualifications and Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited, four-year university or equivalent experience.
  • Capability and willingness to adhere to strict quality assurance standards.
  • Demonstrated, applicable experience in nuclear licensing, or comparable field.
  • Familiarity with 10 CFR regulations and guidance.
  • Familiarity with content of 10 CFR 50 applications.
  • Self-Starter with ability to manage deadlines.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel) and Adobe Professional.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • The successful candidate will possess a high degree of trust and integrity, communicate openly, and display respect and a desire to foster teamwork.

  • Special Senses: Visual and audio focused work.
  • Work Conditions: Stairs, typing/keyboard, standard and/or sitting working environment of >8 hrs./day.
  • Travel required: 0-10%.
