*The Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) has adopted a new automated hiring system designed to enhance the recruitment process. The Human Resources Technology System (HRTS) offers applicants access to real-time updates during the hiring journey. Under the general supervision of the Information Technology Manager I within the Offender Management product line, the Information Technology Supervisor II (IT Sup II) will oversee a high-performing team dedicated to developing Progressive Web Applications utilizing Vue.JS, Vuetify, and Feathers, while also maintaining a suite of Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) and legacy systems. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in various programming languages, stay informed about emerging technologies, and have a comprehensive understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) alongside experience in Project Management Principles, including Agile and Waterfall methodologies. The IT Sup II is expected to remain updated on best practices regarding security and testing in application development. Furthermore, the candidate should be well-versed in public administration principles at the state level, including management, organization, planning, budgeting, and project/contract management. Leadership skills are essential, as the incumbent will set clear expectations, recognize individual contributions, mentor staff, and implement progressive discipline to enhance team performance. The IT Sup II will act as a liaison between the EIS Technical Staff, vendors, and various CDCR Division Program personnel.

This position is based in a conducive office environment.

The office is situated conveniently, offering free parking and a pleasant setting, making it accessible for employees commuting from various locations.

New candidates to CDCR must undergo a background investigation process, including Live Scan fingerprinting and Tuberculosis testing prior to appointment, followed by annual Tuberculosis evaluations thereafter.
