DAY-TO-DAY RESPONSIBILITIES

As the HVAC Operations Supervisor, you will be essential to our heating and cooling projects. Your daily tasks will include monitoring and implementing company protocols while offering technical support to our technicians. You will oversee service and maintenance operations, ensuring that each customer interaction is resolved effectively and satisfactorily. When necessary, you will assist in the field with technical challenges, callbacks, and troubleshooting. Additionally, you will provide estimates for unique service repairs not covered by our standard pricing model and manage our on-call service program. Your department will focus on acquiring and retaining residential, educational, institutional, and light commercial clients.

In your role, you will also be responsible for recruiting and hiring, as well as maintaining a structured training program for technicians that covers technical skills, customer service, sales techniques, and operational processes. You will ensure that all technicians adhere to our high standards of professionalism and that all service vehicles are properly maintained. When necessary, you will provide individualized coaching and training to enhance their skills in selling heating and cooling systems tailored to our customers' needs. Your team will rely on your mentorship to foster their growth and maintain the quality of service we are known for.

On a semi-annual basis, you will conduct performance evaluations with all team members to assist them in achieving their professional goals. You will also engage directly with customers to address inquiries, promote heating and cooling services, and resolve any issues. Your strong communication skills will keep the operations manager informed of any recommendations, such as pricing adjustments, new service offerings, or suggested salary increases. As the HVAC Service Director, you will find great fulfillment in contributing to the growth and success of our heating and air conditioning business.

REQUIREMENTS FOR AN HVAC OPERATIONS SUPERVISOR

  • Proven experience as an HVAC service manager.
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
  • Knowledge of HVAC controls.
  • EPA certification.
  • NATE (North American Technician Excellence) or NCI (National Comfort Institute) certification.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Proficiency in computer applications.
