Industrial Press Operator

Amsted Automotive Group, a leader in the automotive sector, is seeking a skilled press operator to manage operations on presses with capacities of up to 200 tons for single-level components on the 3rd shift.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Duties: Follow detailed instructions, blueprints, and process specifications.
- Produce high-quality components using powder metal presses and associated machinery.
- Make necessary adjustments to machinery to ensure product quality.
- Operate various types of compacting or restrike presses.
- Utilize calibrated measuring instruments to accurately check and document production against specified tolerances.
- Employ Statistical Process Control (SPC) charts and related equipment to uphold quality standards.
- Load and unload components while conducting visual inspections for defects.
- Verify and weigh components in accordance with established schedules and specifications.
- Conduct routine preventative maintenance on machinery as needed.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation.
- Assist in training and mentoring fellow operators as required.
- Complete necessary documentation for material certification.
- Seek assistance when encountering issues and ask questions for clarification.
- Engage in team-based problem-solving as part of ongoing departmental improvement initiatives.
- Utilize various testing instruments, chemicals, and material handling equipment in compliance with established guidelines.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized workspace.
- Wear required personal protective equipment in accordance with safety policies.
- Demonstrate responsibility and accountability in the use of assigned work periods, machinery, equipment, and tools.
- Understand and align with the BN Quality Policy, taking pride in the products manufactured.
Minimum Requirements:
Education:
A high school diploma, GED, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Experience:
No specific prior experience is mandatory. Previous experience in operating press machinery is advantageous.
Skills & Knowledge:
Familiarity with forklift operation and Statistical Process Control (SPC).
