Job Summary

We are seeking an Experienced Barge Deckhand to join our team at Heidelberg Materials US, Inc. in the Aggregates industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate barges safely and efficiently, adhering to industry standards and company policies.
  • Transport materials to various docks, utilizing water transportation methods.
  • Work in a dusty and outdoor environment, with a strong commitment to safety and environmental standards.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by vessel captains or management, including maintaining a clean work area and adhering to safety policies.

Requirements

  • Ability to lift in excess of 75 lbs. during a normal shift.
  • Willingness to work on the waterway for up to 30 consecutive days, living aboard the vessel.
  • Ability to enter small dark areas and climb horizontal and vertical ladders into and onto barges.
  • Compliance with federal, state, and local guidelines.
  • Previous experience in the barge towing industry is preferred, with US Coast Guard regulated vessel experience being a plus.
  • Ability to work outside in all weather conditions.
