Maintenance Technician IV

As a vital member of our team, you will be accountable for executing maintenance tasks on all company assets and equipment, ensuring the safe and efficient functionality of the facility while adhering to our standards in safety, security, quality, and productivity. You will work autonomously based on both written and verbal directives and serve as a liaison within the department for internal and external stakeholders. Flexibility in your work schedule will be necessary to accommodate special projects, emergencies, and varying shifts.

Key Responsibilities


• Preventive Maintenance: Conduct preventive maintenance and inspections on all company assets to guarantee their safe and efficient operation.


• Material Handling Equipment: Evaluate, maintain, and repair forklifts and other material handling devices as needed. Document and perform scheduled preventive maintenance on all such equipment.


• Conveyor Systems: Assess, maintain, and repair conveyor systems to ensure they function safely and efficiently, minimizing operational downtime. Document and execute scheduled preventive maintenance on all conveyor equipment.


• Storage Systems: Construct, replace, and maintain storage systems, including racks and shelving, as necessary.


• Fire Protection Systems: Carry out scheduled inspections on fire protection systems, which involve testing fire pumps, flushing sprinkler systems, inspecting fire extinguishers, managing PIV valves, and confirming the functionality of fire alarms in compliance with insurance regulations.


• Heating/Air Conditioning: Inspect, maintain, and repair heating and air conditioning systems as required.


• Electrical: Execute electrical repairs and installations, including lighting fixtures, outlets, transformers, breaker panels, conduit installation, wiring, and repairs to conveyor systems.


• Plumbing: Perform basic plumbing repairs as necessary.


• Welding: Conduct basic construction repairs as required.


• Carpentry: Undertake basic carpentry and painting tasks as needed.


• Network Cabling: Possess basic knowledge of network cabling installation; certification is preferred.


• Purchasing/Parts Inventory: Procure necessary parts for repairs and manage parts inventory to minimize downtime in facility operations.


• Facility Grounds: Ensure the exterior appearance of the facility and surrounding grounds is well-maintained.


• Industrial Battery Maintenance: Perform battery maintenance and testing.


• Miscellaneous: Maintain all related equipment to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the distribution facility.

Qualifications:


• High School diploma or GED required.


• Minimum of one to two years of trade school or directly applicable training.


• 5-7 years of experience in a related field.


• Proficient knowledge in one or more of the following areas: carpentry, plumbing, electrical systems, fire protection systems, conveyor systems, forklift mechanics, HVAC, and the ability to interpret electrical schematics and blueprints.


• Experience with 480V 3 Phase systems.


• Willingness to work overtime as business needs dictate.


• Flexibility to be on-call as required for special projects, emergencies, and varying shifts.

Preferred Qualifications:


• Technical certification or Associate's degree preferred.


• 10+ years of experience in industrial maintenance preferred.


• Previous experience with electrical components and three-phase wiring preferred.


• Familiarity with material handling equipment is preferred.


• Experience with PLC programming is advantageous.

Physical Requirements:


• Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.


• Capability to lift, push, or carry up to 50 lbs. frequently.


• Ability to work in extreme temperatures (both hot and cold).


• Capacity to work from variable heights while utilizing a safety harness.
