Amsted Automotive Group, a leader in the powder metal industry, is seeking a skilled press operator to manage operations on presses up to 200 tons for single-level components during the first shift.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
As a press operator, you will:
- Follow detailed instructions, blueprints, and process specifications.
- Ensure the production of quality components using powder metal presses and related machinery.
- Make necessary adjustments to machinery to maintain product quality.
- Operate various types of compacting and restrike presses.
- Utilize calibrated gauges to accurately measure and document production within specified tolerances.
- Employ Statistical Process Control (SPC) charts and support tools to uphold quality standards.
- Load and unload components while conducting visual inspections for defects.
- Weigh and check components according to established schedules and specifications.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on machinery as needed.
- Complete necessary documentation and recordkeeping for material certification.
- Assist in training and mentoring fellow operators.
- Engage in team-based problem-solving initiatives as part of continuous improvement efforts.
- Utilize various testing devices, chemicals, and material handling equipment in accordance with safety protocols.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized workspace.
- Wear required personal protective equipment as mandated by safety policies.
- Demonstrate responsibility and accountability in the use of assigned work periods, machinery, and tools.
- Embrace and uphold the BN Quality Policy, taking pride in the products manufactured.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
A high school diploma, GED, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that equips you with the necessary skills and knowledge.
Experience:
While prior experience is not mandatory, familiarity with press machine operations is advantageous.
Skills & Knowledge:
Competence in forklift operation and understanding of SPC principles.
