ABOUT THE POSITION

Amsted Automotive Group is seeking a skilled press operator to manage operations of presses up to 200 tons for single-level components.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential Duties: Follow detailed instructions, blueprints, and process specifications.

  1. Produce quality components using powder metal presses and associated machinery.
  2. Make necessary adjustments to machinery to ensure product quality.
  3. Operate various types of compacting and restrike presses.
  4. Utilize calibrated measuring instruments to verify and document production within specified tolerances.
  5. Employ Statistical Process Control (SPC) charts and auxiliary equipment to uphold quality standards.
  6. Load and unload components while conducting visual inspections for defects.
  7. Check and weigh products according to established schedules and specifications.
  8. Perform routine preventative maintenance on machinery as needed.
  9. Maintain accurate records and documentation.
  10. Assist in training and supporting fellow operators as required.
  11. Complete necessary documentation for material certification.
  12. Seek assistance when encountering challenges and ask questions for clarification.
  13. Engage in team-based problem-solving as part of the continuous improvement initiatives.
  14. Utilize various testing tools, chemicals, and material handling equipment in accordance with established guidelines.
  15. Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  16. Wear all required personal protective equipment as mandated by safety policies.
  17. Demonstrate responsibility and accountability in the use of assigned work periods, machinery, equipment, and tools.
  18. Understand and uphold the BN Quality Policy, taking pride in the products manufactured.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR SUCCESS

Minimum Requirements:

Education:

High school diploma, GED, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that equips the individual with the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Experience:

No specific prior experience is mandatory. Previous experience in operating press machinery is advantageous.

Skills & Knowledge:

Familiarity with forklift operation and Statistical Process Control (SPC).

Supervisory Role:

No supervisory responsibilities.
