Position Summary:
The Guest Services Representative is responsible for welcoming and registering guests, ensuring a high standard of service, and managing guest accounts upon their departure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide a warm and genuine welcome to guests, utilizing clear communication to understand their needs and offer accurate information about hotel services and local attractions.
- Facilitate the registration process by accurately entering and retrieving guest information, confirming details such as the number of guests and room rates, and promoting hotel offerings.
- Handle financial transactions, including credit card verification, cash handling, and processing various forms of payment, ensuring accuracy in all calculations.
- Respond promptly to phone inquiries, taking messages and relaying information to guests as needed.
- Manage guest check-out processes, ensuring satisfaction and addressing any concerns that may arise.
- Maintain composure and professionalism during busy periods and emergencies, effectively resolving issues related to guest accommodations.
- Address guest complaints with thorough research and effective solutions, taking ownership of challenges to ensure a positive experience.
Additional Information:
Due to the nature of the hospitality industry, flexibility in scheduling may be required to meet the operational needs of the resort.
Qualifications:
- Basic mathematical skills and proficiency in using calculators for accurate financial transactions.
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively interact with guests and resolve conflicts with patience and diplomacy.
- Ability to stand and move throughout the front office while performing essential job functions.
- Effective communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency in using computer systems for data entry and information retrieval.
- Ability to recognize and respond to emergency situations.
- Prior experience in hospitality is preferred but not required.
Compensation:
The compensation for this role ranges from $20.00 to $22.00 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience.
