Job Summary

The Clinical Care Specialist will provide general clinical and procedural patient care under the direction and supervision of the center's physicians and/or providers.

This role will assist providers with patient care, including order entry, reporting, phone calls, clerical, and organizational tasks, as well as related duties.

As directed by the provider, this position must be able to independently perform procedures such as venipuncture, administration of injections, pulmonary function tests, ear irrigations, ultra sound therapy, muscle stimulation, hot/cold packs, EKGs, breathing treatment, x-rays, lab testing, holter monitoring, dressing changes, wound cleaning, hearing and vision tests.

This position may also assist providers with surgical and medical procedures, e.g. minor wound repair, foreign body removals, etc.

Responsibilities
  • Assist providers with patient care, including order entry, reporting, phone calls, clerical, and organizational tasks
  • Independently perform procedures as directed by the provider, including venipuncture, administration of injections, pulmonary function tests, ear irrigations, ultra sound therapy, muscle stimulation, hot/cold packs, EKGs, breathing treatment, x-rays, lab testing, holter monitoring, dressing changes, wound cleaning, hearing and vision tests
  • Assist providers with surgical and medical procedures, e.g. minor wound repair, foreign body removals, etc
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent certificate
  • Medical Assistant applicants must have successfully completed an accredited Medical Assistant program and/or will have obtained certification through a recognized certifying organization
  • Licensed Practical Nurse applicants must successfully have completed a practical nursing and pharmacology program and maintain current state licensure with CNE requirements
  • Prior experience in ambulatory health care facility preferred
  • Ability to learn related center tasks and be of assistance to management and physicians
  • Self-motivated to achieve the highest patient care and customer service standards
  • CPR certified within the first 3 months of employment
  • Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding
  • Familiarity with the EPIC EMR is strongly preferred
  • Thorough understanding of HIPAA law
