ROLE SUMMARY
The Maintenance Technician plays a crucial role under the guidance of the Maintenance Supervisor, ensuring a safe, clean, and inviting environment for all campus users. Key responsibilities include the installation, repair, and routine upkeep of various facility systems and structures. Additional tasks may involve transporting materials across campus, preparing venues for events, and conducting inspections of buildings. A solid foundation of technical skills coupled with a readiness to learn is essential for success in this position.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. **Installation**
• Assemble and install new equipment, appliances, and furnishings.
• Secure items to walls and ceilings as necessary.
• Prepare tables, chairs, stages, podiums, screens, and other items for events and gatherings.

2. **Repair**
• Conduct repairs and maintenance on YOC equipment, furniture, vehicles, and grounds as required.
• Document repair activities as instructed by the Maintenance Supervisor.

3. **Maintenance**
• Assist in the upkeep of YOC grounds, including snow removal, spreading ice melt, and clearing debris.
• Ensure proper care and security of maintenance tools and equipment.
• Participate in monthly preventative maintenance inspections of YOC facilities to ensure optimal conditions.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
A high school diploma or equivalent (GED or TASC) is required.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIRED
• Familiarity with various tools and equipment.
• Ability to adhere to instructions and safety protocols.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT
The typical work schedule is Monday through Friday, totaling 40 hours per week. Responsibilities require working both indoors and outdoors, involving lifting, operating vehicles, and using a variety of tools and equipment, including electrical and gasoline-powered devices. The Maintenance Technician will regularly interact with YOC program staff, office administration, and executive team members, necessitating professionalism and courtesy at all times.
