Job Overview

Position Title: Educational Support Specialist II - 6 hrs

Role Summary: This position involves providing instructional assistance, behavioral support, and clerical help to educators within special education environments. The specialist will work closely with individual students or small groups to facilitate their learning experience. Responsibilities include aiding teachers in delivering instruction and managing classroom dynamics in both special and general education settings.

Work Schedule: 182 work days annually
Employment Type: Full Time
Compensation: $24.45 per hour, structured in 9 annual increments based on experience.

Location: Not specified
Daily Hours: 6 hours per day; 5 days per week

Benefits Offered: Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and life insurance options are available for employees working 4 or more hours daily, with full district contributions for those working 6 or more hours.

Qualifications: A high school diploma or equivalent is required, along with successful completion of a competency assessment that demonstrates the ability to assist in teaching reading, writing, and mathematics. Alternatively, completion of at least 48 college credit units may fulfill this requirement.

Licenses and Certifications: A valid driver's license may be necessary. Compliance with district skill and competency standards is expected. A valid First Aid/CPR certification may also be required.

  • NCLB Compliance (48 college units or successful completion of the Paraeducator Proficiency Exam)
  • Proof of High School Graduation (Diploma, Transcripts, or Equivalent)
