Material Planning Specialist

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Material Planning Specialist to join our team at Midwest Industrial Rubber. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the Supply Chain Manager in the development and execution of an inventory and production strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement lean JIT concepts to minimize on-hand inventory and transportation costs.
- Support customer demands for reduced lead times in accordance with policies and the Ammega Production System.
- Manage all Planning Department processes, including material order placements, confirmation of lead time requests for quotes, and entry of orders into our ERP system.
- Develop work instructions and execute training plans for the department.
- Assign tasks to team members from the Planner Task List and develop their skills to improve their confidence and product knowledge.
- Support other departmental needs as they arise, help solve issues and problems, and escalate complex issues to management for resolution.
- Contribute to the growth of the company through an engaged team by exhibiting strong Ammega values.
- Create a pleasant working environment that inspires the team.
- Set a schedule to level load work to production by running and analyzing reports.
- Handle all expedites from request to approval, order planning, and hand-off to production.
- Ensure all safety procedures are followed and actively work to improve our safety program.

- Maintain a clean and organized working environment (5S).
- Ability to work overtime if needed and fill in for the Department Manager as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in material and production planning.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Computer skills, including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, as well as ABW or ERP skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work in the US.
