We are seeking dedicated Patient Care Technicians to enhance our expanding team. Under the guidance of licensed clinical personnel, you will deliver essential patient care and administrative support aligned with unit objectives and Community Health System standards. Your responsibilities will encompass various facets of patient care, including nutrition management, intake/outtake monitoring, and vital signs assessment, while also providing vital office management assistance to your unit. Responsibilities:
In your position, you will:
  • Assist with fundamental aspects of patient care, including bed scale weights, intake/output monitoring, personal hygiene, dressing, turning, and ambulation. Safely execute or assist with inpatient lifting, transferring, positioning, and ambulation in collaboration with the patient care team.
  • Document vital signs, height, weight, and intake/output data. Collect and record assigned information and relay pertinent details to the RN/RTT.
Qualifications:
Education
  • High School Diploma, High School Equivalency (HSE), or completion of a CHS Approved Individualized Education Plan (IEP) Certificate required.
  • Successful completion of one of the following is mandatory:
    • Certification from an accredited Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program.
    • Certification from an accredited Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) program.
    • Certification from an accredited Paramedic program.
    • Nursing Fundamental courses from an accredited clinical RN or LVN program (typically completed in the first semester).
Experience
  • 1 year of experience in an acute care hospital is preferred.
Licenses and Certifications
  • BLS - Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers by American Heart Association (AHA) is required.
  • One of the following certifications is required:
    • CNA - State of California Certified Nursing Assistant Certification (active or inactive status is acceptable).
    • EMT - Emergency Medical Technician Certification issued by the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (active or inactive status is acceptable).
    • AEMT - Advanced Emergency Medical Technician Certification issued by the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (active or inactive status is acceptable).
    • PARAMEDIC - Paramedic Certification issued by the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (active or inactive status is acceptable).
    • RN or LVN Student/Graduate.
