PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Perform selected nursing and administrative tasks, including referrals and authorizations.
  2. Prepare patients for examinations and treatments, including taking vital signs.
  3. Set up examination and treatment rooms with necessary instruments and supplies.
  4. Administer injections and apply dressings and splints.
  5. Maintain and prepare supplies and equipment for treatments, ensuring proper sterilization.
  6. Assist physicians with minor surgical procedures and physical examinations.
  7. Screen calls for appropriate referrals to physicians or providers.
  8. Communicate provider information to patients via phone or mail.
  9. Provide general information regarding departmental policies and procedures.
  10. Maintain patient files, records, and other relevant information.
  11. Compile and summarize technical and statistical data for reports.
  12. Participate in required meetings and committees as necessary.
  13. Engage in professional development activities and maintain relevant affiliations.
  14. Ensure patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
  15. Adhere to all Medical Assistant competencies.
  16. Contribute to a collaborative work environment by following additional job-related instructions and performing other duties as assigned.
