Role Overview:
We are seeking a mid-level Tax Associate with a strong background in advising on merger and acquisition transactions, debt and other financing transactions, and portfolio investments. Based in New York, the ideal candidate will design and implement tax-efficient structures for joint ventures and corporate transactions, as well as provide state tax planning advice. This role is well-suited for professionals who have recently worked for an Am Law 100 firm and are looking to advance their career in a dynamic and supportive environment.
Responsibilities:
- Advise clients on merger and acquisition transactions, debt and other financing transactions, and portfolio investments.
- Design and implement tax-efficient structures for joint ventures and a wide range of corporate transactions.
- Provide state tax planning advice to clients.
- Collaborate effectively with team members, working from the office approximately 60% of the time, in accordance with the firm's published guidelines.
Skills and Qualifications:
- JD from an ABA-accredited law school; LLM in tax preferred.
- Admitted or eligible for admission in New York.
- At least four years of transactional tax experience, focusing on corporate transactional and partnership taxation in a law firm environment.
- Background in energy, real estate, and international taxation preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Professionalism in working and engaging with clients and colleagues.
- Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and balance competing responsibilities.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to collaborate and work effectively in team settings.
