Job Title: Academic Advisor

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Academic Advisor to join our team at the University of Oklahoma. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing academic guidance and support to students, helping them achieve their academic and personal goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct individual academic advising appointments to help students create meaningful academic plans.
  • Assess students' needs and provide support, referring them to appropriate campus resources when necessary.
  • Communicate with students, faculty, and staff to ensure seamless academic experiences.
  • Manage administrative tasks associated with academic advising, including maintaining accurate records and processing forms.
  • Participate in institutional retention and completion initiatives to support student success.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in academic advising or student services.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to navigate databases.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in higher education or related field.
  • Previous experience in academic advising or student support services.
