Key Responsibilities- Provide Direct Care: Observe, assess, and report on the client's feelings and behavior, and assist in implementing the decided upon treatment plan.
- Ensure a Safe Environment: Provide a safe and suitable home-like environment, and participate in house and therapeutic groups and recreational activities.
- Transport Clients: Transport clients to and from appointments, court, and other activities as needed.
- Assist with Daily Living Skills: Assist clients with homework, house chores, and daily living skills, and teach and assist with client responsibilities surrounding house chores and daily living skills.
- Participate in Recreational Activities: Actively participate in client recreational, clinical, and house activities (groups, crafts, activities, and games).
- Develop Positive Relationships: Develop appropriate, caring, and helpful adult interactions with clients, and maintain good working relationships with other staff.
- Complete Documentation: Ensure all documentation is completed before leaving each shift worked, and read the house communication log on a daily basis.
- Qualifications: The Direct Care Worker is responsible for providing direct care by observing, assessing, and reporting on the client's feelings and behavior, in addition to assisting in implementing the decided upon treatment plan and providing a safe and suitable home-like environment.
- Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent required, and previous experience in a residential care setting preferred.
- Skills and Abilities: Ability to work with traumatized youth, provide trauma-informed care, and maintain a safe and healthy environment.
