Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Program Engineer to join our team at Element Materials Technology. As a key member of our Operations Team, you will be responsible for performing routine and non-routine testing assignments, ensuring timely and accurate test results are provided to our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical and administrative management to engineering staff, ensuring the schedule and budget goals for the department are achieved.
  • Manage and guide the activities of the engineering function, planning engineering projects and overseeing their efficient execution.
  • Act as liaison between the team and upper management, facilitating effective communication and collaboration.
  • Work closely with Applications Engineers to quote new opportunities and assess the feasibility of potential projects.
  • Support the generation, management, and scheduling of appropriate milestones for each project.
  • Assign projects to the engineering department based on knowledge and capacity, driving cross-training to increase flexibility of project assignments.
  • Evaluate results of tests to ensure technical objectives are met, identifying and developing process improvement opportunities.
  • Develop a structured engineering process to standardize project management, ensuring proper documentation is provided to the appropriate functional area.
  • Work with site management to set priorities for all open projects, engaging with customers to win new work.
  • May work with department staff to run complex tests, particularly if they require specialized knowledge.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Critical and analytical thinking for evaluating information carefully and solving complex problems.
  • Ability to resolve escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.
  • Advanced understanding of Engineering principles, including exposure to fluids testing, cryogenics, and thermal shock testing.
  • Expert understanding of data interpretation and troubleshooting, with the ability to effectively communicate instructions to lead teams to meet their goals.
  • Detailed-oriented for understanding complex systems, with some travel required.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or physics, or equivalent engineering discipline. Master's degree in mechanical/aerospace or related discipline is a plus.
  • 3-5 years of experience in fluids and/or physics applications and testing, with aerospace/Space industry exposure.
  • Six Sigma or Lean Six Sigma certifications is a plus.
