Reporting to: Director of Operations, Managed by Retail Buyer

This part-time role is perfect for individuals seeking to contribute to a natural wellness retail environment. The position involves supporting daily operations during peak shopping periods, ensuring the store remains inviting and organized.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with online order processing, including printing pick reports, selecting products, and preparing shipments.
  • Manage backstock inventory of exclusive herbal blends, ensuring accurate tracking and organization.
  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the retail space, including shelves and display areas.
  • Support the retail buyer in monitoring inventory levels and restocking as necessary.
  • Prepare herbal products, including refilling jars and creating specialty tea blends.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service, assisting shoppers with product inquiries and recommendations.
  • Cross-train to provide backup support for shipping operations when required.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Experience in retail customer service, with a focus on positive interactions and cash handling.
  • A genuine passion for plants and natural healing practices.
  • Attention to detail and a keen aesthetic sense.
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced retail environment.
  • Excellent teamwork abilities, fostering good relationships with colleagues.
  • Physical capability to lift up to 40 lbs and stand for extended periods.
  • Availability to work during peak shopping seasons.

Preferred:

  • Formal training in herbalism (100 hours or more).
  • Comprehensive knowledge of herbs and dietary supplements.
  • Familiarity with shipping platforms such as Shippo or Shipstation.
  • Understanding of Latin nomenclature related to herbs.
  • Knowledge of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) herbs.
