Role Description:
The Technician position is available in both full-time and part-time capacities, functioning as an hourly role based on business needs. The primary responsibility involves executing basic vehicle diagnostics and performing routine repair and maintenance services in alignment with company standards and manufacturer specifications. This role emphasizes delivering exceptional service to our guests through effective communication regarding vehicle issues and proposed solutions, while consistently meeting expectations for quality and timeliness.

Compensation:
The hourly wage for this position ranges from minimum wage up to $33.50, with eligibility for additional compensation and incentives based on experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct basic vehicle diagnostics to accurately identify necessary repairs.
  • Complete Monro's Courtesy Inspection process for every guest vehicle, documenting and communicating additional required services and repairs.
  • Assist in managing inventory, including pulling tires and parts, as well as unloading and stocking inventory.
  • Support general store operations, ensuring the facility is maintained to Monro's cleanliness standards and is guest-ready.
  • Perform services in accordance with Monro's safety protocols, including Wheel Torque and Oil safety procedures.
  • Test drive vehicles following Monro's Road Test policy, adhering to local traffic and safety regulations.
  • Understand and comply with company policies, governmental standards, and safety regulations.
  • Maintain technical knowledge and skills through timely completion of required training courses.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Automotive training in basic maintenance and repair or a comparable combination of education and experience.
  • ASE certification and State Inspection license preferred where applicable.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license with a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report (MVR).
  • Required to own a basic set of tools or participate in Monro's tool purchase program.

Work Environment:
This position operates within an automotive shop environment, with exposure to moderate noise levels, adverse weather conditions, and various automotive-related elements. Technicians must be able to:

  • Work flexible hours, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Lift, carry, and stock merchandise and supplies up to 75 lbs. without assistance.
  • Stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Perform frequent overhead and below-the-knee reaching, including squatting, bending, and twisting.
