Role Summary:
The Technician position can be either full-time or part-time, and is compensated hourly based on business needs. This role is crucial for performing essential vehicle diagnostics and executing routine maintenance and repair services in line with company standards and manufacturer guidelines. Our goal is to provide top-notch service to our guests by effectively communicating vehicle concerns and proposed solutions, while consistently meeting expectations for quality and timeliness.

Compensation:
The hourly wage for this position ranges from minimum wage up to $33.50, with opportunities for additional compensation and incentives based on experience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct basic vehicle diagnostics to accurately identify necessary repairs.
  • Complete Monro's Courtesy Inspection for every vehicle, documenting and communicating any additional services required.
  • Assist in managing inventory, including pulling tires and parts, as well as unloading and stocking supplies.
  • Support general store operations, ensuring the facility meets Monro's cleanliness and readiness standards.
  • Perform services in accordance with Monro's safety protocols, including proper wheel torque and oil safety procedures.
  • Test drive vehicles following Monro's Road Test policy, adhering to local traffic laws and safety regulations.
  • Understand and comply with company policies, governmental standards, and safety regulations.
  • Maintain technical knowledge through timely completion of required training courses.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Automotive training or equivalent experience in car maintenance and repair.
  • ASE certification and State Inspection license preferred, where applicable.
  • Valid driver's license with a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report (MVR).
  • Possession of a basic set of tools or participation in Monro's tool purchase program.

Work Environment:

This position operates within an automotive shop environment, which may involve exposure to moderate noise levels, adverse weather, and various automotive chemicals. Technicians must be able to:

  • Work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Lift and carry merchandise and supplies up to 75 lbs without assistance.
  • Stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Perform physical tasks including bending, squatting, and twisting.
