ERM is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Staff Consultant in Geology or Engineering to enhance our expanding team. This role involves collaborating with project managers and partners on engaging site investigation and remediation initiatives. The successful candidate will have the chance to engage in a diverse array of projects that encompass the full range of ERM's services.

This position offers an excellent opportunity to collaborate with ERM's technical specialists, implementing cutting-edge engineering and remediation technologies while gaining the necessary experience for professional registration.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in the design and installation of remediation systems.
  • Conduct field operations in various locations, including sampling, drilling, well installation, remedial pilot tests, and overseeing construction activities.
  • Support groundwater sampling and monitor the performance of remediation systems.
  • Compile and analyze environmental data, including soil, groundwater, air, and sediment.
  • Contribute to the preparation of reports for submission to regulatory bodies.
  • Review groundwater chemistry data and create visual representations to support regulatory documentation.
  • Conduct Phase I and II environmental site assessments to facilitate property transactions.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Work within defined quality, budget, and schedule expectations while managing specific assignments.
  • Communicate effectively with subcontractors, regulatory representatives, tenants, and clients during field operations.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in geology, hydrogeology, environmental science, or engineering is required; a Master's degree is preferred.
  • 1 to 3 years of relevant field experience, with a willingness to undertake field assignments.
  • Experience in environmental fieldwork and possession of a 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification is advantageous.
  • Strong commitment to safety, adhering to established health and safety protocols.
  • A valid driver's license and a clean driving record are necessary; having a personal vehicle is preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with strong organizational and analytical abilities; experience in documenting detailed technical data and reports is essential.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Detail-oriented with mechanical aptitude and effective problem-solving skills.
  • Capability to manage multiple tasks, maintain flexibility, travel, and work autonomously with minimal supervision.

For the Staff Consultant in Geology or Engineering position, the anticipated annual base salary ranges from $62,315 to $69,050 USD. The specific salary will be determined based on various factors, including education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, and business needs.
